This is a custom-built model of the Yamaha YZR-M1 #7, driven by Carlos Checa during the 2004 pre-season testing. Crafted using a Tamiya kit and custom decals, this model features a realistic carbon fiber exterior, recreated with a unique paint technique that mimics the look of real carbon fiber without using decals. The carbon finish is achieved by utilizing the mesh pattern of pantyhose as a stencil for painting, giving an authentic appearance.

The model includes detailed features such as mesh-style brake hoses on both front and rear, with spiral tubing to simulate the real components. The throttle and clutch wires have been replaced with thinner, scale-appropriate wires instead of the kit’s thicker hoses, enhancing realism.
