In 1948, the GM Antímano Assembly Plant opens in the Caracas area, initially building commercial trucks and pickups before moving into passenger cars. Operations at the Caracas-area Antímano facility wound down/closed in 1983, with GM consolidating much of its national production footprint toward Valencia, Venezuela
