A collection of the first three volumes of David Barzilay's The British Army in Ulster, published in Belfast by Century Books / Century Services during the 1970s.

The three illustrated hardback volumes document British Army operations in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, covering military units, operations, equipment, tactics and contemporary events. They contain extensive period photography and documentary material and are an interesting primary-era reference for collectors of British military and Northern Irish history.

Volume 1 – The British Army in Ulster
Originally published 1973; later reprint.

Volume 2 – The British Army in Ulster
Originally published 1975; this copy is the second reprint, 1978.

Volume 3 – The British Army in Ulster
Published 1978.

All three retain their original pictorial dust jackets.

Please note that David Barzilay subsequently published a fourth volume, so this listing comprises Volumes 1–3 only and is not the complete four-volume series.

Condition

Good vintage used condition overall.

All three books are structurally sound with no significant damage noted. The dust jackets show expected age-related wear including rubbing, marks, discolouration and some edge/corner wear, with Volume 2 showing the most noticeable ageing. There is also some general shelf wear and age toning.
