Josef Emanuel Margold art-deco/wiener werkstatte bottle holder
Vienna 1910

Total width 19 cm—base 10.5 cm, height 9 cm. Shows signs of age but is in good condition. Possibly silver-plated copper, tin, or a copper-red alloy; the ball is made of stained wood. It is quite likely that it was made by Wolkenstein & Glückselig (Margold originally designed this pattern for them), although the mark is a mystery to me—could it be Margold’s mark? It is very rare and unique; it is conceivable that it was made as a one-of-a-kind piece on special order or request.
