At auction is a 100% original photographic slide/transparency by legendary fashion photographer Stan Malinowski (1936–2024) — straight from the photographer's own archive. No two exist alike.
Malinowski was a pioneering force in 1960s, '70s & '80s global fashion photography, working with some of the era's most iconic faces — Cindy Crawford, Gia Carangi, Christie Brinkley, Iman, Kelly LeBrock, Ali MacGraw, Twiggy, Jerry Hall, Andie MacDowell, Phoebe Cates, Jill Goodacre, Paulina Porizkova, Kim Alexis, Suzanne Somers, Barbara Eden, Beverly Johnson, Carol Alt, Elle Macpherson, Isabella Rossellini, Mimi Rogers, Erin Gray, Rene Russo, Shannon Tweed, Patti Hansen, Morgan Fairchild, Renée Simonsen, Angie Everhart, Rachel Hunter, Connie Sellecca, Lara Flynn Boyle, Joan Severance, Kelly Emberg — plus dozens of centerfolds for early Playboy Playmates and Penthouse Pets, and hundreds of others, both high-fashion and vintage erotica.
Malinowski broke into Playboy as a young photographer, landing a cover and centerfold that launched a career spanning into the '90s. His work later appeared in Penthouse, where he crossed paths with a young Anna Wintour — and when Wintour moved on to Vogue, she brought Stan with her. From there he became a globally renowned fashion photographer, shooting covers and features for Vogue (U.S., French & Italian editions), Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Town & Country, and many others.
His signature style — glamorous, sensual, and artfully composed — helped define modern fashion and glamour photography. This is a rare, highly collectible piece from a celebrated career, and once it's sold, it's gone for good.
