On August 5, 1981, New Zealand Post issued this stamp as one of a set of three children designs. The designer is credited as being the New Zealand Post Office in Wellington, and the proceeds of the 'Health' value of these stamps were donated to the Children's Health Camps movement.


    This stamp design depicts a girl and a boy exploring and examining marine life in a rock pool beside the ocean, which is a seaside pastime enjoyed by many New Zealand children.
