Large pair of antique white Staffordshire-style spaniel mantel dogs, England. Molded fur texture throughout with hand-painted eyes, black noses, and traces of original gilt detailing on collars and body accents (mostly worn with age). One dog has a painted red open mouth/tongue detail. Sold as a facing "comforter" pair, the classic Victorian mantel decoration. Substantial weight and size — these read as true antique pieces rather than modern reproductions. One has a hairline cracks on the top back.
