Maker & Cottage History
Lilliput Lane, founded by David Tate MBE in Penrith, Cumbria, became one of Britain’s most iconic makers of miniature cottage sculptures. Every piece was individually hand-crafted and hand-painted in the UK, ensuring no two cottages were ever quite the same.
The “Silver Bells” cottage embodies the brand’s signature 1990s style — abundant flowers, detailed stonework, and thatched roofs so textured you can almost feel the straw. These earlier British Collection pieces are now increasingly sought after, especially complete with their paperwork.
