Vintage 1985 Four Star Transistor Robots transforming Grasshopper Insect Robot, manufactured in Taiwan.
The figure is marked “FOUR STAR 1985 TAIWAN” on the body. It was released during the 1980s transforming-robot boom and features a design inspired by insect-style robots of the period.
This large figure converts between an upright humanoid robot and a mechanical grasshopper or mantis-like insect configuration. It features a metallic-green torso, metallic-gold head and leg panels, black articulated insect limbs, long black antennae and a combination of plastic and die-cast metal construction.
The toy was transformed and posed for photography. Both long antennae remain present, and the major articulated insect limbs and transformation sections remain attached.
This is an original Four Star Transistor Robots toy. It is not an authentic Hasbro or Takara Transformers G1 Kickback figure.
The figure shows substantial vintage play and storage wear. Metallic-gold surfaces have scratches, oxidation, discoloration, finish loss and heavy rubbing. Plastic sections show scratches, scuffs, dust and surface marks. Transformation joints and articulated limbs may have looseness from age.
