Simulacron‑3 is Daniel F. Galouye’s early exploration of simulated reality, following a researcher who discovers that the corporate‑run virtual city he helps manage may itself be a simulation, with his own world showing signs of artificial instability. This copy is the true first printing, confirmed by the copyright line stating “Published July 1964,” the only dated Bantam issue and the recognized first‑printing point; later printings drop the month, change pricing, or alter the ad pages. The Bantam number J2797 aligns with the 1964 first‑printing sequence.
