This auction is for a one Eugenia azeda tree.
Eugenia azeda, commonly known as "Pitanga Feijoa," is an elegant shrub or tree that can reach up to 9 meters in height. Endemic to restingas and semi-deciduous forests along the extreme north of Brazil's Atlantic coast, this species is distinguished by its greyish trunk, ovate-elliptic leaves, and terminal inflorescences with typically two flowers.
Its fruits, ripening between December and January, are orange-yellow with a slightly ribbed, subglabrous surface and a juicy, aromatic pulp. The flavor is pleasantly acidic, reminiscent of Acca sellowiana (feijoa), making it a treat for the senses. Pitanga Feijoa blooms between November and December and is valued for its ornamental potential, thriving as a tropical bonsai or potted plant. This versatile species is a true gem for collectors and gardeners alike, combining beauty with its unique, tangy fruit.
