So I bought this van 18 months ago for one of the guys who works for me who lives inside the M25 and needed a compliant van, we have always had 2.4 and 2.2 transit vans. This was the first time we’ve ever had to buy a more modern one because of this awful ULEZ tax… I paid £7000 plus fees… I drove the van 150 miles Home without any problems however within a week the old thing had started to play up…. We took it to a garage who said that it needed new injectors… We did it at considerable cost, whilst it was in the garage, it would appear that also it had had a head gasket change…… Carried out by the last owners.
Due to the mileage the garage said we should change the wet belt… I actually didn’t know what a wet belt was, but having done some investigations it would appear it was Sensible to do it so it had a new wet belt and water pump….
The van drove okay for six months… Then she had another problem, which turned out to be the turbo… A reconditioned turbo was fitted and she was serviced fully including oil change, fuel filter et cetera et cetera
Four weeks ago, my guy who drives her said she was making an awful noise and pulled over, I went and rescued him with my trailer and took it to the garage who said that it needed a new engine…. I am literally not spending more money on this van. I think it owes me more than £11,000 at the minute therefore it is for sale as spares or repairs needing an engine…….
I have made a video with it running so you can see and hear what she’s doing…. I have lots of paperwork and the V5 logbook ready to transfer from our company name…..
Having had transit vans for over 25 years I’m so disappointed that these new ones are absolutely rubbish. I’ve subsequently gone on to buy a Renault traffic and a Fiat Ducato, which I never thought I would do but they have been brilliant…..
It is what it is, it still has an MOT test in place, it will go to the highest bidder as this is a no reserve auction…..
You’re more than welcome to come and have a look…. In fact, it might be best if you did at least you know what you’re up against then
I’ve had a quote from a local company who will put in a reconditioned engine and take this engine as a exchange fitting injectors and turbos from the old Unit onto the new one for a cost of £3000……
I am in Shadoxhurst in Kent for you to come and have a look should you Wish…. I might take something in part payment if it helps a sale… It will start and drive for loading purposes only
Thank you for looking.
Payment is by bank transfer only.
