This is a vintage unposted chrome postcard featuring the Philbrook Art Center (formerly Villa Philbrook) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Originally known as "Villa Philbrook," this grand 72-room Italian Renaissance-style mansion was constructed in the 1920s as the private residence of Oklahoma oil pioneer Waite Phillips and his wife, Genevieve. In 1938, the Phillips family donated the sprawling estate, including its 23 acres of formal gardens, to the Southwestern Art Association to serve the city of Tulsa as an art museum. Today, it remains one of Tulsa's premier cultural institutions, renowned for its collections of traditional, contemporary, and Native American art.
This clean, mid-century card is a solid reference piece for collectors of Oklahoma history, museum ephemera, or landscape architecture.
