About these wheel cylinders

On drum brakes, a wheel cylinder sits at the top of each brake. When you press the pedal, fluid pressure pushes its two pistons outward and they press the brake shoes against the drum. As the rubber cups inside wear, fluid seeps past them, wets the shoes and weakens the brakes on that wheel.

This set gives you one new wheel cylinder for each side of the axle. Replacing both sides together keeps braking even from left to right.

  • Matched set: a left and a right cylinder for the same axle, so you do both brakes in one job.
  • Original bore size: the same bore as the factory part, for the same pedal feel and front-to-rear brake balance.
  • New, not rebuilt: new cylinders with fresh cups, so there's no core to send back.
  • Signs it's time: brake fluid on the backing plate or the inside of the tire, wet or glazed shoes, a soft pedal, the car pulling to one side, a brake that grabs, or a falling fluid level with no leak at the master cylinder.

Installing: shoes soaked with brake fluid can't be cleaned and should be replaced along with the cylinders. Check the drums and hardware while the brakes are apart, then bleed the brakes and adjust the shoes before you drive. Brakes are safety parts: if you're not sure, have a professional fit them, and test the pedal before you drive.

Returns

Returned parts must be new, unused and uninstalled, in the original packaging with every piece included. A part that has been installed, modified or damaged after delivery can't be accepted unless it has a manufacturer defect.

If a part fails

Message us through eBay with your order number, a short description of the problem and photos. We'll handle the warranty claim and may ask for the part back for inspection.
