Historical Background:
Teach-In was a Dutch pop group formed in the late 1960s, achieving international fame during the 1970s.
The group became especially famous after winning the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden, representing the Netherlands with the song Ding-a-Dong.
The song became an international hit and remains one of the best-known Eurovision winners of the 1970s.
Teach-In’s cheerful melodies, vocal harmonies and distinctive European pop sound made the group popular in several countries, including the Soviet Union.
During the Soviet period, Western pop recordings were highly sought after, and the state-owned Melodiya record company released selected international artists under licensing agreements.
This particular pressing was manufactured in Riga, Latvia, under licence from the Dutch record company CNR.
An interesting piece of European pop music and Soviet vinyl record history.
