Description:

Original vintage Soviet naval-style mechanical wall clock, manufactured in the USSR.

A heavy-duty industrial-style clock featuring a round black housing, cream-coloured dial, bold black Arabic numerals and three hands, including a distinctive red seconds hand.

The dial displays the Soviet USSR quality mark and the inscription “СДЕЛАНО В СССР” (Made in the USSR).

The outer housing is marked 4-77, possibly indicating a production date of April 1977, although this has not been confirmed.

Historical Background:

Clocks of this general design were produced in the Soviet Union for use in demanding environments, including ships, naval vessels, industrial facilities and military installations.

Their robust construction, highly visible numerals and practical design made them suitable for locations where reliable timekeeping and easy readability were important.
