Original 1972 2nd British Rock Meeting Festival Poster & Ticket Stub – Pink Floyd – Germersheim Germany – Framed 19” x 19”

Step back into one of the most memorable chapters of European rock history with this framed 1972 Second British Rock Meeting festival display. Held May 20–22, 1972, on Insel Grün near Germersheim, West Germany, this landmark open-air gathering became one of the defining large-scale rock festivals of its era. The event drew a massive audience, with estimates reaching approximately 100,000 people, and represented the growing international influence of rock music in early-1970s Europe. The festival was originally planned for Mannheim before being relocated to Germersheim following local opposition, adding another fascinating chapter to its story. Pink Floyd headlined on May 21, during a pivotal period when the band was developing the music that would soon lead to The Dark Side of the Moon.

The festival advertised an extraordinary lineup spanning progressive rock, hard rock, blues, folk, and the emerging German krautrock scene. Featured acts included Pink Floyd, Humble Pie, Atomic Rooster, The Kinks, Status Quo, Rory Gallagher, Family, Uriah Heep, Strawbs, The Incredible String Band, Osibisa, Curved Air, Amon Düül II, and Buddy Miles Express, among many others. The original promotional poster also lists The Faces and The Doors, although surviving historical accounts indicate that not every advertised act performed. Today, the Second British Rock Meeting remains an important artifact of the era when enormous outdoor festivals helped shape modern concert culture and bring international artists together with Europe's rapidly developing rock scene. For collectors of Pink Floyd memorabilia, vintage concert advertising, and 1970s music history, this display offers a visually striking connection to a landmark event from more than five decades ago.
