Vintage 1971 Mattel Talking Football – Hear-It-Happen Game

Original Mattel Talking Football game featuring the automatic Sportscaster record player and 13 small record discs that provide the play-by-play action.

This set has been carefully inventoried. It includes all 13 Talking Football records along with the playing field, scoreboard, record storage/display racks, goal posts, markers, football pieces, instructions, original paperwork and other components pictured.

Known Missing Pieces:
The Bears and Raiders team/scoreboard cards are missing. Everything else has been accounted for based on the game's contents.

Sportscaster Testing:
The Sportscaster was tested with a battery. The motor runs, but the belt/record drive mechanism does not turn. Therefore, the Sportscaster is not fully functional and is being sold as-is for repair/restoration. The unit has not been opened or repaired.

Deteriorated drive belts are a known issue with these vintage Mattel Sportscasters.

The 13 original record discs are included. Records show normal vintage/pre-owned wear. They could not be fully playback-tested because the Sportscaster drive is not operating.

Original game box shows noticeable age and storage wear including edge wear, corner wear, scuffs, creasing and other cosmetic wear. The interior playing field and components display nicely for their age.

Please review all photos carefully. Photos are part of the description and show the actual game and contents you will receive.

A nice largely complete example of Mattel's classic 1971 Talking Football game for a collector, display, restoration project, or someone who already has a working Sportscaster.
