Seven vintage Oklahoma State sales tax tokens. Issued during the Great Depression (1937-1952) to collect a small state sales tax on small purchases to avoid paying a full penny. Called :1 Mill "sales tax" token for old age assistance. Aluminum tokens were used 1937-1942, and then were replaced with the cardboard tokens in 1943, so that aluminum could be used for World War II. Not in perfect condition, but these are the first cardboard tokens I've ever seen in 65 years. Definitely something different. Taxtoken1
