Scarce first edition of 1757, published anonymous, of this phylosophical work by the venetian economist Giammaria Ortes (1713-1790) who became famous for his theory about people Calcographic engraving in the title page.

In good conditions and complete. 

Soft coeval cover in fair general conditions lightly worn in the extremities. Back plate is partially detached. Binding in fair conditions with cracks. Pages in good conditions with foxing. In 8. Dim. 23,5x17 cm. Pp. 70+(2).

Rara prima edizione del 1757, pubblicata anonima, di questa opera filosofica dell'economista veneziano Giammaria Ortes (1713-1790) divenuto celebre per la sua teoria sulla popolazione.

Incisione calcografica al frontespizio.

Secondo il pensiero di Ortes ciò che chiamiamo "piacere" è soltanto la rimozione o l cessazione di un dolore o di un affanno, mentre il dolore e l'ansia rappresentano sempre una condizione reale e positiva.

Numerose antiche note manoscritte nel testo.

In buone condizioni e completa. 

Copertina morbida coeva in discrete condizioni generali con usure e mancanze ai margini e dorso. Piatto posteriore in parte staccato. Legatura in discrete condizioni con rotture. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture. In 8. Dim. 23,5x17 cm. Pp. 70+(2).
