Antique Chinese export porcelain milk or hot-water jug, most likely dating from the Qianlong period, circa 1760–1780.

The pear-shaped body is finely hand-painted in the famille rose palette with colourful European-style flowers, ornate iron-red scrollwork, lattice panels and gilded decoration. It features an elegant double-twisted handle and retains its original decorated lid.

A beautiful and highly decorative example of early Chinese porcelain made for the European market.

Antique condition with considerable age-related wear. There is heavy wear to the gilding, visible hairline cracks on the body and cracking or an old repair around the spout. The lid also shows wear and manufacturing imperfections. Please examine all photographs carefully before purchasing.

Sold as a decorative collector’s piece and not recommended for practical use.
