Antique Edwardian mahogany display cabinet / vitrine, dating from the early 20th century, circa 1900–1915.
A beautifully proportioned and elegant English display cabinet with a tall, slender form, glazed sides and a single glazed front door featuring a striking elongated oval astragal design.
The cabinet is constructed in rich dark mahogany and stands on four fine tapered legs, with a shaped gallery and moulded cornice completing the upper section.
The interior is fitted with two shelves plus the lower display level, finished in a light neutral lining which provides an excellent contrast for porcelain, glassware, silver, books, curios or decorative collections.
One of the nicest details is that the cabinet retains its original key.
Its narrow proportions make it particularly useful for rooms where a full-size cabinet would be too large, while still offering excellent display space.

Good antique condition with genuine age-related character throughout.
There are surface marks, scratches, small knocks, areas of wear and variations to the finish consistent with more than a century of use.
The top surface in particular shows some visible age-related marks and wear, clearly shown in the photographs.
The timber retains a rich colour and attractive aged patina.
The cabinet remains a very elegant and highly decorative piece.
