Beautiful vintage small box, most likely a makeup powder compact from the first half or mid-20th century. Features a finely engine-turned (guilloché) background and superb chased floral engraving with magnificent rose/gold highlights.
Hallmark: Clearly stamped with a crisp « 916 » mark.
