This is a 100 page pocket-sized (approx. 3" x 5") fact book that gives all kinds of information about the Porsche cars for the 1998 and 1999 model year, specifications, options, historical & current prices, VIN numbers, it’s history, and other Porsche features.

 

The 996 was introduced early in 1998 as a 1999 model year.  Although this fact book is geared towards the new 996 Carrera, it has a lot of comparison information for the 1998 993 Carrera included

 

Models covered:

·         1999 911 Carrera Coupe (type 996)

·         1998 911 Carrera (type 993 for comparison purposes only)

·         1998 Boxster

 

Some of the details covered:

1.      All standard and optional equipment listed by each model (911 and Boxster)

2.      Lists of Interior and exterior color choices including special order colors like Boxster Red or Nephrite Green (sorry, no color samples)

3.      Detailed Technical Specifications, dimensions, and factory performance figures

4.      ‘911 Series Focus’ and ‘Boxster Series Focus’ –  Describes changes for the 1998 Boxster and 1999 911 Carrera.

 

Also includes very helpful Porsche history and reference guides:

1.      VIN number identification chart;

·         Shows you how to decode your VIN number

2.      All VIN numbers with body and engine type, hp, and production years

3.      M Equipment & P Equipment Options numbers table for all options offered through Porsche

4.      Factory Suggested List Prices for Porsche cars sold in the U.S. since 1978, including 924, 944, 968, 911, and 928.  For example a 1978 Porsche 911 Targa cost $18,250 new. 

 

But that’s not all…also covers other special Porsche features such as:

It is quite amazing to see how much information Porsche has packed into this small book.  And since Porsche printed it, you can count on it being very accurate. 

 

The book has a vinyl dust jacket that has the Porsche Crest embossed on it.

 

There is also a price folder included which covers the MSRP prices for the 1998 Boxster (not for the 911). 

 

 

 

Condition:                  Very good condition with little wear.
