"TO THE MASTER OF HEMPING"
During the second five-year plan (after 1934), the government of the union state began to pay much attention to the development of hemp cultivation, introducing incentives for planting the plant in private and floodplain areas. And in a short time, the hemp areas in the USSR reached colossal proportions! By 1936, Soviet collective farmers were already growing 4/5 of the world's hemp harvest! The plant became the main crop in the agriculture of the Soviet Union. Residents of the Oryol, Kursk, Chernigov, Minsk and a number of other regions received their main income from cultivating hemp! To encourage shock workers, the "Master of Hemp Cultivation" badge was instituted.
