Manufactured specifically for Queen Victoria in her Jubilee year - 1887 - her 50th year on the throne.  These would have been made as a commemorative souvenir for high class dining.

E L T & Co's Registered number for this item is 62763 and is stamped on both sides of the plated rims on the fork (4 stamps) and both sides of the fish server (4 stamps).  This number would have been issued by UK Patent Office in 1887.

They are made from High quality electroplated nickel silver (EPNS). 

Queen Victoria's head appears as a structural component we  believe called 'Ferrulle' or end cap on both items.

They are in the original box which has  red satin padded lining.

This spectacular looking set was purchased from an antique shop near Stamford in 2008 and were bought as a family Ruby Wedding gift.  The have been in the family for 18 years.  Serious downsizing means that we must now find another appreciative home for them.
