"An ACT for enquiring into the Rateable Estates of this Province."

This 18th century three page document from colonial Massachusetts-Bay is dated May 27, 1867.

Passed during the reign of King George III in 1767 this Act instructed assessors in each town and district to take an oath and lodge a true list of taxable assets and property with the secretary's office.

This included counts of polls (Rateable and non-Rateable), dwelling houses, shops, tanyards, mills, livestock and merchandise / trading stock.

The 259 year old document is printed on fine laid paper and measures approx. 8 1/4 x 13 1/4 inches.

Printed by Richard Draper, and Green & Russell, printers to the Government , 1768.

There is some writing in ink on page four along with some manuscript accounting.

As with all my Ebay auctions I am starting this rare document at $9.99 with NO RESERVE!
