OMAS "360" is the most revolutionary writing instrument Collection of our time.

The number 360, magical and lucky, holds a very positive place in the history of writing instruments and is significant to OMAS as a continuation of emblematic OMAS Collections identified by the number 300. The 360 Collection will include a fountain pen, rolling ball, ball-point and mechanical pencil. The 360 Collection was created by renowned Milanese designer and architect Stefano Bini, in collaboration with the OMAS technical team.

The OMAS technical department originated in the 1920's and this combination of talent was vital in the completion of this project.

It is not by chance that OMAS has given a new and innovative form to the concept of writing instruments. In fact, the Collection was carefully studied and developed to be totally ergonom-ic, to feel so natural in the hand that it could be used for sustained periods of time without the usual fatigue associated with writing page after page. This revolutionary model introduced by OMAS, is "three-faceted" in design and while triangular shaped pens are not entirely new, no pen has ever been developed in such strict accordance with ergonomics until now.

The 360 Collection is a manifestation of OMAS' belief that the 3-sided pen fits perfectly in the hand and thus assures that the nib will always touch at the perfect angle without interruption of the ink flow. This corrects an age old problem with fountain pens, as poor ink flow is often attributed to improper positioning of the pen.

The triangular shape of the 360 Collection was inspired by the mathematical equation of the number 3 to allow for a true and natural ergonomic adaptation of the 3 fingers that also form a triangular shape when writing. Stefano Bini in collaboration with the OMAS technicians studied ergonomics at great length to achieve the perfect design. Beginning with pencil sketches, our technicians elaborated the design and tested its viability using CAD-CAM. The results were immediate, giving us the opportunity to review each minute detail to create a pen of absolute perfection.

As writers, we are constantly having to re-adjust our grip on a round-barreled fountain pen. With the OMAS "360" a re-adjustment should never be necessary. The special triangular shape enables a writer to find the perfect grip intuitively and immediately.

For our proprietary resin, OMAS has developed an extraordinary color and mirror polishing process for the 360 Collection, reminiscent of the black sea. Like the number 360, this blued black color has its own mystique.

We have recently developed two additional colors and materials, green cinnabar and dark madder (alizarin), wich emphasize the unique characteristics already described and allow for an even wider selection of colors and finishes for this innovative writing instrument.

A special curved and extended clip was developed for the 360 Collection. Incredibly smooth, the clip slides like glass into any shirt pocket.

The clip will also easily identify the specific writing instrument without having to remove the cap. An embossed symbol, found at the top of the clip where it is joined to the cap, denotes the type of pen: a circle for the rolling ball, a triangle for the ball-point and a rectangle for the pencil. The fountain pen is left unmarked.

All four instruments in the Collection are produced with a special cap.

Developed by OMAS, the cap clicks effortlessly into place, fitting and lining up perfectly with the pen.

The 360 fountain pen comes with an 18 K gold calligraphic nib. Available in various nib sizes, this nib will satisfy a wide range of preferences and requirements.

The development of the 360 Collection required considerable expertise and vision on behalf of the

OMAS technicians. They had to look to the future of pen design and allow themselves to deviate from the classical, traditional designs for which OMAS is so well known. With the introduction of the 360 Collection, OMAS has yet added another page to their elaborate history. Still, in the tradition of fine craftsmanship, OMAS has produced a Collection in which each intricate detail has been carefully researched, designed and executed with meticulous attention.

Like the number 360, symbolizing the magic of The ages, the OMAS "360" Collection is a revolution in and of itself and a new chapter in the evolution of writing instruments.
