Miss Appear comes from the show's parody superhero universe surrounding Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. Sandy assumes the Miss Appear identity as part of the International Justice League of Super Acquaintances, alongside SpongeBob as The Quickster, Patrick as The Elastic Waistband and Squidward as Captain Magma. That superhero connection is heavily represented throughout the 2025 Topps Chrome set, making these alternate identities particularly fun targets for character and subset collectors.
