History:

Camp Shenango, a major U.S. Army personnel replacement depot located near Greenville, Pennsylvania during World War II. Built in 1942, the camp processed and prepared over one million American soldiers before they were sent to the European front.

Originally known as the Shenango Personnel Replacement Depot, the base served as a staging and processing center where troops received final training, equipment, and assignments. In September 1943, the installation was renamed Camp Reynolds in honor of Civil War General John F. Reynolds.
