On auction, we have 2 prints from "Historie Naturelle des Mammiferes" published in 4 volumes between 1824 and 1842. The authors were Frederic Cuvier and Etienne Geoffrey Saint-Hilaire, with Cuvier given credits for the art. Here, we have 2 Pyrenean Squirrels on a limb and mother with baby Black Capuchin monkeys. Their full names are printed on the bottoms. On thick paper the prints are 19" X 13". In their decorative mattes, they are 21 1/2" X 17". They are taped in the mattes at both top and bottom, not glued down.
This is in very good condition. The prints are bright, bold, clean and clear. The prints have been handled and have some wrinkles. As I am not an expert, on art please view my photographs for more description.
These are from my friend who is moving to a much smaller home and parting with many of his treasures.
I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping when possible.
