Offered is a good sized (11cm), finely preserved, detailed and essentially complete example of the starfish, Furcaster palaeozoicus from the Lower Devonian; Emsian, Hunsruck Slates of Bundenbach, Germany.

This sharp, pyritised example shows clear detail of all five arms, in dorsal arrangement of granular plates represented. Two of the arms are truncatedat their tip by a natural joint. The stellate central disc is particularly well shown.

Altogether a fascinating and displayable legacy of Devonian marine life!
