1957- 1958 Season Subscription Series for Symphony concerts in the Grand Hall of the Leningrad Philharmonia

Soloists included Soviet Russian pianist Emil Gilels, pianist Lev Oborin, violinist David Oistrakh, cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, violinist Boris Busya Goldstein, violinist Leonid Kogan, pianist Sviatoslav Richter, cellist Daniil Shafran, pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy, and others.

Conductors included Yevgeny Mravinsky, Kirill Kondrashin, Kurt Sanderling, Natan Rakhlin, Boris Khaykin, Evgeny Svetlanov, and others.

Every season the Leningrad State Philharmonia (Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonia Named After D. D. Shostakovich now) has been offering a series of subscription concerts. For the 1957–58 season, the Philharmonia offered twelve symphonic subscription series in the Grand Hall. Subscription No. 3 consisted primarily of works being performed in Leningrad for the first time or works that hade not been heard in Leningrad for a long time. Subscription No. 6 featured all seven of Tchaikovsky’s symphonies.
