Starting in 1963, Chevy added an optional power steering system to vettes. This system, consisting of an engine-driven pump, steering arm control valves, pressure and return hoses, and a power cylinder, provided assisted steering during cornering.
A particularly common problem with the Vettes C2/C3 power steering system was leakage of the control valves. Leaks could occur at the control valves and also at the power cylinders.
Due to Chevrolet's user-friendly design, replacing this system was very simple. As the system was external, all components were easily accessible. You can directly replace the control valves and power cylinders with this rebuild kit.
