Antique French A.C.C. Mechanical Carriage / Travel Clock – No. 815 – Circa 1900 Offered for sale is an original antique mechanical carriage clock bearing the A.C.C. mark with arrow trademark and numbered 815. Research has identified other documented A.C.C. carriage clocks dating from approximately the turn of the 19th/20th century, including examples described as French manufacture. The clock retains its substantial brass case and original-style articulated carrying handle. The mechanical movement remains internally fitted and includes the large mainspring barrel, wheel train, winding mechanism and regulator. Condition: Offered strictly as an antique restoration project / for repair. The clock has considerable age-related wear and has clearly remained untouched for a long period. The original dial is very heavily worn/damaged with substantial surface loss, and the hands are absent. The brass case has extensive patination, tarnishing, scratches and loss of its original finish. The movement is dusty/dirty and will require professional cleaning and servicing. I have deliberately not cleaned or polished the movement or case, preserving the existing patina and identifying marks. The movement has not been professionally serviced or tested for accuracy, so no guarantee of mechanical operation is given. Identifying details include: A.C.C. marking / arrow trademark Number 815 Mechanical movement Roman-numeral dial Brass/gilt-metal carriage case Articulated carrying handle Approximately turn-of-the-century manufacture Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description. An interesting original antique carriage clock suitable for a clock collector, horologist, restoration project or period display.
