ANTIQUE OAK DROP-LEAF TABLE ON CASTORS

A wonderfully characterful antique oak drop-leaf table, featuring a beautifully aged solid wood top, folding side leaves, lower storage shelf and original-style castors.

This is a particularly versatile piece of period furniture. With both leaves folded down it becomes a compact side, lamp or occasional table, while fully opened it provides a considerably larger surface suitable as a coffee table, serving table or occasional centre table.

The oak has developed a superb warm colour and aged patina, with highly attractive grain throughout. The top retains numerous marks, scratches, colour variations and signs of historic use which give the piece genuine character rather than the appearance of a modern reproduction.

The two drop leaves are supported by the folding gate-style side supports, allowing the table to be quickly transformed from compact to full size.

A useful lower shelf provides additional storage or display space, while the castors make the table relatively easy to reposition.
