REPRODUX BY BEVAN FUNNELL LTD

SERPENTINE MAHOGANY WRITING DESK

A superb quality traditional English writing desk by the renowned Bevan Funnell Ltd, from their Reprodux range of fine English furniture.

Made in England and retaining its original Reprodux / Bevan Funnell maker's label.

This is an exceptionally elegant piece, beautifully constructed in richly figured mahogany and featuring a wonderful serpentine form throughout.

The raised gallery incorporates two beautifully shaped side cupboards, a central drawer and an open central compartment, providing useful storage while retaining an extremely refined and balanced appearance.

The lower section features three serpentine-front drawers fitted with elegant brass ring handles and stands on four slender tapered legs.

One of the finest features is the inset leather writing surface.

The leather is in exceptional condition and displays beautiful gilt-tooled decoration around the border together with a central gilt motif. Its warm colour complements the rich mahogany beautifully.

The figured mahogany is particularly attractive, with wonderful grain, depth and variation across the gallery, drawer fronts and writing section.

The combination of the serpentine profile, beautifully figured timber, brass fittings and tooled leather gives the desk a wonderful English country house appearance.

A beautiful and highly decorative piece of quality English furniture.
