A LITTLE PIECE OF JAN HAGARA HISTORY — “PEGGY SUE”
Some collectibles are beautiful on their own. Others become even more special when the pieces of their story have stayed together through the years.
This vintage Jan Hagara “Peggy Sue” porcelain figurine is one of those pieces.
Peggy Sue depicts a young Victorian girl gently holding her doll, with a small teddy bear sitting faithfully beside her. The soft pastel colors, delicate facial details, floral bonnet, and period clothing beautifully capture the nostalgic Romantic Victorian style associated with Jan Hagara Collectables.
What makes this particular example especially appealing is that so much of its original collector presentation has remained together.
This is Club Edition No. 3009, Item No. C22323, and it comes with its original Jan Hagara floral box, Certificate of Authenticity, and original Peggy Sue collector literature/booklet.
The original literature included with the figurine provides an interesting piece of Peggy Sue’s history. It states that Peggy Sue was the first National Club Meeting (1991) giveaway to attendees in print form, and that the subject was later made available as a porcelain figurine to Jan Hagara Collectors’ Club members.
More than three decades later, the figurine, its original box, Certificate of Authenticity, and collector paperwork are still together.
