Vintage Pacific Coast Bear Grass Mini Basket w/ Stone Arrowheads Original Label

Vintage miniature covered woven basket with a group of small stone projectile points/arrowheads that were found stored inside the basket.  Most importantly, an old typewritten paper identification label remains inside the basket. It reads in part:

“Guaranteed Indian handicraft of the Pacific Coast. The material used is called ‘bear grass’ and grows in marshy places.”

The basket measures approximately 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/4" wide and features very fine weaving with a fitted lid and colorful geometric decoration.

The basket and stone points came together from an estate collection that included Native American artifacts. The stone points were inside this basket when acquired and are being sold together with it.

The original label does not identify a particular tribe or maker, so no specific tribal attribution is being made. Likewise, the age, origin and cultural attribution of the stone points have not been independently authenticated.
