Antique Imperial Japanese Navy Sailor Cap Kure Naval Barracks Taisho 7 1918
An antique Imperial Japanese Navy sailor cap (sailor hat) with its original cap band (pennant).
The cap band bears the name Kure Naval Barracks (呉海兵団). Two anchor motifs are also present on the rear of the cap, rendered in gold-colored lettering.
The issue date is June 1918 (Taisho 7), associated with the Yokosuka Clothing and Provisions Section (横須賀衣糧科).
The chin strap remains in place and appears to be from the period.
Overall, the cap is in good condition for its age.
There is a small hole on the top of the cap that appears similar to moth damage. In the photographs, this area may appear whitish, but the surrounding material is the same dark navy color; this is a photographic effect rather than a different-colored material.
Please carefully review all photographs for the condition and details.
Please refer to the photographs for the measurements.
Sailor cap only. No other items are included.
