Vintage Porsche 356 B C Steering Wheel Horn Button Crest 1959-65 Parts
Description
An uncommon vintage Porsche steering-wheel horn-button component featuring the early-style Stuttgart crest, believed to have been made for the Porsche 356 B or 356 C, circa 1959–1965.
The approximately 3-inch circular metal piece has a dark, originally black surface surrounding an applied Porsche crest. The shield features raised “PORSCHE” and “STUTTGART” lettering, the central Stuttgart horse, stylized Württemberg antlers, and remnants of its original red or orange-red coloring.
The embossed, unblackened Porsche lettering and muted orange-red fields are characteristic of the early Porsche crest used during the 356 era. Its size, circular configuration, layered construction, and recessed reverse are consistent with the decorative face and base of a Porsche 356 B/C steering-wheel horn-button assembly.
This is an incomplete component, not a complete working horn button. The original spring plate, electrical-contact pieces, retaining hardware, and other mounting components are no longer present. Several openings remain on the reverse, and there are two holes through the applied crest. The holes may relate to missing fasteners or a later alteration; their exact purpose is unknown.
Although believed to be an original period Porsche component, no visible factory part number or manufacturer’s mark was found. Exact originality, model-year application, and vehicle fitment have not been independently authenticated. It is offered as found for restoration, parts, study, or display.
Its heavily aged, untouched appearance gives it considerable character and makes it an evocative piece of early Porsche automotive history.

* Type: Steering-wheel horn-button face and partial base
* Material: Metal
* Markings: Raised “PORSCHE” and “STUTTGART” lettering

Heavily worn, unrestored vintage condition. There are scratches, abrasions, oxidation, finish loss, edge wear, surface marks, and substantial loss to the original coloration and raised crest decoration.
Two open holes are present through the Porsche crest, along with multiple openings and missing components on the reverse. The purpose of the two crest holes is uncertain, and they may represent missing fasteners or a later alteration.
A prominent diagonal line extends across the face. Upon close examination, this appears to be a deep surface scratch or abrasion rather than a structural crack. No corresponding fracture or separation is visible on the reverse.
The horn-button mechanism is incomplete, and functionality has not been tested. This piece is being sold as shown for restoration, parts, or display. Buyers should compare the photographs and measurements carefully with their intended application. Please review all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the description.
