SS-401 Waltham 16s 15j model 1868 #410182. This is a rare movement and only 2500 were made by Waltham (Ernhardt 1968). It represents a transition from the KW 1860 model to the stem wind/lever set model 1872. It is mounted in a later model AWWC coin silver hunting case with no bezel. The movement was made for Howard Bros. Jeweler in New York. Good dial and hands but bad staff. Two candidate mdl.’72 staffs included and specs for #926 mdl ’60 KW staff...............

Definitions:
   Some are sticky but staff and movement are intact, some try to run 5-10 seconds, some run but with poor amplitude and those that run well have not been tested for accuracy. Tight hinges means no floppy hinged covers and a good solid case. Issues with the case or movement are listed on the note accompanying each watch.................
