By pairing sweet, 1960s pop hooks with wall-of-sound guitar feedback and a dark, detached attitude, they completely revolutionized the post-punk musical landscape.Released in August 1987 as the second single from their critically acclaimed second studio album, "Darklands," "Happy When It Rains" is a flawless example of the band's transition into cleaner, melodic indie-pop territory. This original UK pressing on the Blanco y Negro label remains highly sought after by collectors of vintage 1980s college rock and definitive UK alternative vinyl history.
