A beautiful set of six Orrefors Astrid smoked glass sherry / liqueur glasses, designed by renowned Swedish glass designer Simon Gate.

The Astrid design dates from the early 1920s and features an elegant flared bell-shaped bowl leading into the distinctive hand-formed undulating stem, finished with a wide circular foot. The subtle smoke-brown tint gives the glasses a particularly elegant appearance and is characteristic of Astrid glassware from this period.

A lovely surviving set of six matching glasses and a wonderful example of early Swedish Scandinavian glass design.

Astrid design introduced circa 1922/1923. The pattern continued to be produced subsequently, so an exact manufacturing year cannot be established from the glasses alone.

Diameter across rim: approximately 6 cm (2.4”)

Very good vintage condition. Please study the photographs carefully as these form an important part of the condition description.
