This is an authentic Shigaraki ware sake cup (guinomi) created by Japanese ceramic artist Kiyotsugu Sawa (澤清嗣), who is recognized as a holder of an Intangible Cultural Property designated by Shiga Prefecture.

The piece features the distinctive natural texture and earthy character of Shigaraki pottery.
It has a beautiful rustic appearance created by the natural interaction of the clay and firing process.

The artist's mark is impressed on the bottom of the cup.
