Antique large iron padlock/lock body found on an old farmstead in Estonia.

A striking piece of traditional European hardware with a heavy curved iron shackle and cylindrical metal body. The surface retains a beautiful, naturally aged dark patina with warm brass/bronze-toned areas, scratches, oxidation, and wear accumulated over many years.

The shackle is hinged on one side and opens as shown in the photographs. The opposite end has a shaped locking tip. Inside the cylindrical body, the original locking mechanism is missing. No key is included. Therefore, this item is offered as an antique collectible and decorative object rather than as a functioning lock.

The exact maker and date are unknown. No clearly identifiable maker's marks have been found. Judging from its construction and appearance, it appears to be an old utilitarian farm or outbuilding lock, but I prefer not to assign a precise date without documentary evidence.
