Forty years of Hysteric Glamour, laid out across 336 pages like a scrapbook you found in the brand's own archive. If you have chased down vintage pieces from the label or followed its graphics and campaigns, this is the visual record you have been waiting for — much of it published here for the first time, nowhere to be found online.

Founded in 1984, Hysteric Glamour built its world by crossing American casual real-clothes with music, art, vintage finds, subculture and pop culture, filtered through a sensibility entirely its own. That mix drew young people across generations and borders, and it still does. This book gathers a selected run of archive items from the whole 40-year span, including rare pieces from the brand's early years in the late 1980s and the 1990s.

Beyond the garments, you get the full breadth of the label's output: music-related work, graphic design, advertising, photography and art books, presented in a deliberately chaotic scrapbook layout that mirrors how the brand actually works. An interview collage with designer Nobuhiko Kitamura is included.

The text is in Japanese, and the book is built around its images, so the visual material speaks for itself. Published by PARCO Publishing. Brand new, 2025 publication.
