Offered here is a complete original 1966 Topps Batman “Bat Laffs” / Batman Color Photo trading card set, containing all 55 cards numbered #1 through #55.
Issued during the height of 1960s Batman mania, this colorful vintage non-sport set differs from Topps' famous painted Black Bat, Red Bat and Blue Bat releases by featuring actual photographic images from the classic Batman television/movie production. The set captures Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne and Gotham City's unforgettable villains in the colorful, campy style that made the 1966 Batman era a pop-culture phenomenon.
Featured throughout the set are Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, the Batmobile, Batcave and Batcopter, among other memorable scenes and characters.
Each card has the distinctive numbered circle on the front. The reverses feature the amusing “BAT LAFFS” questions and answers for which the series became known, together with sections of a photographic puzzle. PSA identifies the issue as a 55-card standard-size set measuring approximately 2½" × 3½".

This particular complete set was acquired by the seller through Heritage Auctions from the Ben Novack Jr. Estate Collection.
Heritage Auctions' permanent archive for Lot #12552, “Batman Trading Card and Related Group (1966-2002),” sold June 17, 2012, specifically lists a complete set of the 1966 Batman Photo Cards among the vintage Batman material contained in the lot. Heritage identified the entire group as being “From the Ben Novack, Jr. Estate Collection.”
That provenance gives this set an identifiable collecting history rather than being an anonymously assembled vintage card set.
Condition
This is an original, ungraded vintage set in overall collector condition.
From the photographs, the cards display strong original color and attractive photographic images. There is varying age and handling wear throughout the set, including some corner and edge wear, light surface wear, toning and centering variation consistent with cards approximately 60 years old.
The cards are not being represented as professionally graded, and I would avoid assigning numerical grades to them.
