Vintage set of heavy-duty hand-heated branding irons used for numbering wooden whiskey/bourbon barrels. Set includes nine individual number irons marked 0 through 8; these traditional number sets commonly use the 6 inverted to create a 9. Curved metal branding heads are well suited for applying numbers to barrel surfaces. Features aged wooden handles and heavy steel shafts/heads with substantial patina, oxidation and signs of real working use. One handle has a noticeable hole and all pieces show varying wear consistent with age and industrial use.
