Early German miniature teddy bear, circa 1905–1915, by an unknown maker.

This small five-jointed teddy was produced during the early expansion of teddy bear manufacturing beyond Steiff, when many German workshops were responding to the growing popularity of teddy bears with affordable miniature examples.

He measures approximately 3.5 inches tall and is fully five-way jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. Constructed of mohair plush over a fabric backing, with original black glass eyes and hand-stitched nose and mouth. The proportions, facial stitching, and materials are consistent with early 20th-century German teddy production.

This bear shows honest age-appropriate wear, including thinning to the mohair and surface wear to the muzzle and extremities, consistent with a piece over a century old. No button or tag present, as expected for many small German workshop bears of this period.

A wonderful cabinet-size example for collectors of early teddy bears, miniature toys, or German plush history.
